Hi Oyate,
This is why the Crow Creek Tribe is as poor as it is, and loosing there prime land. Because a few bad apples, federal money from the employees tax fund, and put it in a few their pockets namely Norman Thompson Sr., Randy Shields & Thomas Thompson. Guess they thought someone would continue to turn their heads, after all that is what has been happening all these years. These Crooks were in office. Getting voted in by making promises to the Indians on the Rez, but Norman Thompson riding around in a new Hemi Truck, wonder who paid for that along with 6 Ellsworth houses that were moved to the Reservation to which Norman Thompson had a basement built for his house and paid by who??
Well, now it is time to pay the piper. But where does that leave the tribal people who trusted those Council Members. I pray they will at least have utility money. But where will they live, if they are on part of that 7,000 acres being sold off. Huh!!! If indicted Norman Thompson and his band of thieves will have a jail roof over there head with warmth and food, what about the elderly and children that can't fend for themselves, cause many mommies are at the Casino's hoping for a windfall that will not come.
My heart hurts for my people, wish I were a rich woman. I would surely help them, by helping themselves. makes me sick to my stomach. And I have three ulcers for the pain to set into. I bet those guys don't.
MORE POWER TO SARA AND BRANDON SAZUE PLUS OTHERS TO SHOW A SOLIDARITY, WHO ARE WILLING TO TAKE A STAND IN THE COLD WEATHER, ALAS I DON'T THINK IT WILL DO ANYTHING BUT FREEZE A FEW TAIL FEATHERS OFF. BUT MORE POWER TO YOU ALL. MY LOVE AND SUPPORT GOES WITH YOU, WITH POSITIVE THOUGHTS, MY FRIENDS.

PIERRE — A federal grand jury has indicted four men for multiple counts of bribery concerning programs receiving federal funds.
South Dakota’s U.S. Attorney Marty J. Jackley announced Tuesday that Archie Baumann, 58, of Fort Pierre, and three Fort Thompson men — Norman Thompson Sr., 60, Randy Shields, 52, and Thomas Thompson Sr., 33 — are charged with several counts of receiving bribes.

The charges relate to a series of incidents that occurred in June through October 2008, in which it is alleged Baumann provided money to the Fort Thompson men with the intent to influence tribal officials in connection with a series of transactions made on behalf of the Crow Creek Sioux Tribe, according to a release from Jackley’s office.
The Fort Thompson men are officials with the tribe. They were also indicted for conspiring to retaliate against Crow Creek Tribal Chairman Brandon Sazue, who provided information to law enforcement, and for taking harmful action against him, according to the release.
The three suspended him as tribal chair, the indictment said.
The men appeared before a U.S. magistrate judge for an initial appearance Tuesday. They pleaded not guilty to all counts and were released on bond.
A trial date has not yet been set.

I was a member of the tribe and was ousted for having an education, which is why I left and will never return. I agree that the native people want to savour their own land that was given to them, but they should also take pride in it and beautify it, do what it takes to make it grow, don't elect ignorant people with no education or experience that take advantage and fill their pocket books and hire relation only.
